1. Introduction

Noisy ("Noisy", "us", "we", or "our") operates the Noisy mobile application, which allows users to share authentic audio notes on the feeds of their connected friends and communicate through voice-first direct messaging (our "Services").

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how we collect, process, share, and safeguard Personal Data that is collected through or in connection with the Services. It also tells you about your rights and choices with respect to your Personal Data, and how you can contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Some features may be disabled depending on your location to comply with local laws.

2. Personal Data we collect

We collect Personal Data about you from different sources listed below. In this Policy, "Personal Data" means any information related to an identified or identifiable individual, and does not include data whereby personally identifiable information has been removed (such as aggregated anonymous statistics).

Personal Data You Provide to Us

• Account information: When you create an account with us, we collect your email address, display name, handle (@user_id), and authentication password (cryptographically hashed; we never view or store plain-text passwords).
• Profile media: Any avatar picture and background header image you choose to upload to represent your profile.
• Voice content: Voice notes and audio recordings you record, review, and share as feed posts or send as direct voice messages to connections.
• Text content: Optional captions you attach to your voice posts, and feedback or bug reports you submit to our support team.

Personal Data Generated Through Your Use

• Connection graph: The connections you establish with other users (connection requests sent, received, and accepted).
• Interaction data: Reactions and likes you apply to voice posts, and listening activity for feed notes.
• Post visibility preferences: Audience selections you specify for each recording (all connections or specific friends).
• Messaging timestamps: Timestamps of voice messages exchanged in active conversation rooms.

Technical Information

• Device metadata: Device model, operating system version, and client app build version.
• Session tokens: Secure JSON Web Tokens (JWT) issued by our cloud backend to keep your session authenticated securely.
• Audio duration & metrics: Duration in seconds of audio notes and waveform metadata.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We believe in strict data minimization. We do not collect your precise GPS location, your physical address, your phone address book or contacts list, biometric face/fingerprint scans, or financial payment details.

3. How We Use Personal Data

We process your Personal Data strictly to provide and enhance our Services:

• To create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
• To stream and play back your voice notes to your authorized connections.
• To respect your audience choices so only the users you choose can hear your private voice recordings.
• To send verification OTP codes for account registration and password recovery.
• To protect our community against harassment, abuse, spam, and platform violations.

4. Device Permissions

To provide core voice functionality, Noisy requests specific permissions on your smartphone:

• Microphone: Required to record voice notes and audio chat messages. You can grant or revoke this permission at any time in your device's System Settings.
• Photo Library: Requested only when you choose to upload or update your profile picture or background header.
• Notifications: Optional permission used solely to notify you when a connection sends you an audio message or connection request.

5. Data Storage & Row-Level Security

All Noisy backend databases, user records, and file storage are powered by Supabase. Database tables are protected with strict Row-Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring that voice notes, private messages, and profile configurations can only ever be accessed by authenticated users with explicit authorization.

Local files cached on your phone (such as audio previews during recording) are temporary and cleared as soon as playback or upload completes.

6. Third-Party Services

We work with trusted infrastructure providers:

• Supabase: Provides cloud authentication, database hosting, and secure object storage for audio files. Subject to the Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Google AdMob: May display non-intrusive native advertisements. Google's advertising practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

7. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We never sell your Personal Data or your voice recordings to third parties, data brokers, or advertisers. We share information only:

• With your approved connections on Noisy, according to your privacy and visibility settings.
• With backend service providers strictly as necessary to deliver audio messaging and hosting.
• When required by law, subpoena, or urgent public safety emergencies.

8. Your Rights & Privacy Controls

You have full ownership of your data and voice recordings:

• Delete voice notes: You can delete any audio note or message you have published at any time; deletion instantly removes the database record and storage file.
• Edit profile: You can update your display name, @handle, avatar, and background photo whenever you wish.
• Permanent account deletion: You can permanently delete your entire account directly inside the app (Settings > Delete Account) or request manual deletion by emailing soundhp.team@gmail.com.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as your account remains active. When you delete a voice note, message, or your account, all associated audio files, records, and connections are permanently and irreversibly purged from our database and storage buckets.

10. Children's Privacy

Noisy is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account without verified parental consent, we will promptly terminate the account and delete all associated data.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or legal requirements. When updates occur, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
